Additional professionalization events
CP-Bloomington is pleased to offer two special professionalization events:
Mentoring Lunch
Friday, June 21, 12:30 – 2pm
While all are welcome to this lunch, we particularly hope that graduate students, contingent faculty, and newly appointed faculty will find this conversation useful. Topics covered may include: Publishing/Journals; Balancing Service Work; Women of Color in Academia; Publishing/Book Manuscripts; How to do an Interview; Negotiating the Job Offer; Tenure & Promotion. Specific details to be announced.
Publishing Lunch
Saturday, June 22, 12:30 – 2pm
We have invited a number of editors from university presses to attend the conference and offer advice to CP-Bloomington participants on how to publish a book.
Both events will be catered and free to participants, but due to space restraints, we must limit numbers to 60 per event, available on a first-come-first-served basis. We will keep a waitlist, should people cancel, and folks who are facilitating the mentoring and publishing lunches will be onsite throughout the entire conference for further discussion.
Low-cost housing on campus
Limited campus housing is available at the Union Street Apartments, with reservations available within the conference registration form at a rate of $66.85/night.
These rooms are “suite” style, with either 2 or 4 single bedrooms that each have locking doors. Every two bedrooms share a bathroom. One set of linens (sheets, blanket, pillow, pillowcase, towel) is provided for the duration of your stay. Toiletries (such as soap, shampoo, conditioner) are not provided.
Requesting a suitemate: You may list the name of another participant with whom you would like to share a suite. Both participants need to register separately and request one another within the form. Please note that while IU Conferences makes every effort to accommodate suitemate requests, we cannot guarantee the fulfillment of your request due to space limitations.
